You can tell a serious project by what it refuses to do as much as by what it promises. Here are the rules we set ourselves, and the sums we are talking about, roughly. Nothing here is signed or guaranteed.
When the game imagines something, we say so. In the game as in our files.
We only collect what we really need, and tests follow written rules.
It is dated, registered, kept secret. We show it, we do not hand it over.
They move forward together, but each has its own papers and its own cash box.
A step only starts if the one before is really finished. Nothing is announced as done until it is done.
The project is being set up. No money has been obtained yet.
We have studied three ways of funding the project. These are not sums obtained or committed: they are landmarks, which will be refined with partners, under agreement.
| Way of doing it | Order of magnitude | The idea | Where we are |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 · Public money first | ≈ €600,000 | We build the engine as a research project, on its own, so that it can be used again elsewhere. | To be decided |
| 2 · A mix | ≈ €1 million | Public grants for research, investors for the game, and a loan for day-to-day cash flow. | Main track |
| 3 · Mostly investors | ≈ €3 million | We prepare a game for the whole world: we hire, and we negotiate with publishers. | To be decided |
