Many people know how to do things, and nobody has ever written it down. LA LETTRE exists to make this know-how visible, and useful.
Usually, the diploma is asked for first, and only then does anyone look at what the person can do. We do the opposite. We start from what a person can really do, by watching them do it for real, and we build around it the proof that will allow it to be recognised. First the know-how, then the paper.
Our main activity. You learn to draw the plan of a video game, the way you draw the plan of a house, then to build it piece by piece, with artificial intelligence as a tool. By building the game, you learn things that are useful everywhere: writing clearly, organising your work, deciding, keeping to a deadline, working in a team, presenting what you have done. Each game activity is a brick: once laid and signed, it does not fade, and these are the bricks with which, day after day, you build your professional house.
Many people get stuck on a legal question (a contract, rent, a dispute, a formality), a notary question (an inheritance, a gift, a home) or a safety question (at work, at home). They do not know where to start, or who to turn to. The welcome desk is there for that: we listen, we help you understand what it is about, we help you gather your papers, and we point you to the right professional. We do not replace the lawyer or the notary: we make sure the person arrives at their office prepared, and in the right place first time.
Rooms, where everyone takes part, as much as they can, in the life of the place. For artists who stay a long time, young workers on assignment for a few weeks, and people accompanying a relative in hospital for a few nights. Three different lengths of stay, and one idea: giving everyone a place, for as long as it takes.
Everything we do leads somewhere. The signed papers add up and become a file, and this file very often makes it possible to go back to school: take a certification, have what you already know how to do recognised (VAE, validation of experience), enter a course. You build a trade, and you learn to choose it after having tried it: the first workshops take the form of a game, you quickly see whether you like it, and then the association helps you choose what comes next, step by step. That is our guidance engineering. And since digital tools and artificial intelligence change very fast, knowing how to use them is today what lets you find your place, at work and in everyday life: that is why the training is done with these tools.
In our two neighbourhoods, many families live on very little. There are many parents raising their children alone, many young people without work, and many people who do not know which door to knock on for their rights or for their future. On the other side, there are local companies looking to hire and not finding anyone. Between the two, there is a gap. Our job is to build a bridge over that gap.
The place where the whole training course takes place, over time. An organised workshop, made to last for years and to produce signed papers that add up to one another.
The place of the first real-life trial, with a small group and results you can count. This is where we check that the method works, and learn what needs correcting.
LA LETTRE runs on two engines: the association, which works for everyone's benefit and does not seek to make money, and the tool that serves it, the video game and the company that makes it. The two help each other, but each has its own cash box, its own accounts and its own rules, like two neighbouring houses that share a garden but not the same purse. This is not a detail: it is what protects the project and the people. We explain it plainly in our promises.
